Rachel Armstrong & Karl Grimes
Rachel Armstrong is a sci-fi author and general medical practitioner. She has worked closely with international artists interested in medical technologies, and has appeared extensively in the media and at international conferences speculating on the future of humankind, non Darwinian techniques of evolution and the challenges of the extra-terrestrial environment.

Karl Grimes' work has been exhibited and published in the United States and Europe and is represented by a number of international public and private collections. His projects, collaborations and exhibitions engage analytically with the themes of retrieval and resurrection.

Iain Ross Ballantyne Bolton
Iain Ross Ballantyne Bolton is a lecturer of international relations and comparative politics with the faculty of Political Science at the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. His research interests include the domestic sources of national space policy and space security issues. He is currently studying for a Doctorate in Political Science with the University of Connecticut.

Laura Cinti & Howard Boland
Laura Cinti is a practising artist working within the intersections of art and biology. She is currently a PhD candidate at UCL, working in an interdisciplinary capacity between the Centre for Advanced Biomedical Imagery and The Slade School of Fine Art.

Howard Boland's research focuses on language and narrative processes within the contemporary intersection of art and science. Along with Laura Cinti, he is a co-founder of c-lab, an artistic platform that engages in critical and contemporary amalgamations of bio- and electronic art.

Nina Czegledy & Andre P. Czegledy
Nina Czegledy is an artist, curator, educator and writer works internationally in media and electronic art. Czegledy is a Senior Fellow, KMDI, University of Toronto, Associate Adjunct Professor Concordia University, Montreal, Honorary Fellow, Moholy Nagy University of Arts and Design, Budapest and co-chair of Leonardo Education Forum. Nina Czegledy is the outgoing chair of ISEA, Inter-Society of Electronic Arts.

Andre P. Czegledy is Senior Lecturer in Anthropology at the University of the Witwatersrand. Since 2000, he has collaborated with Nina Czegledy in a series of publications reflecting on the impact of biomedical visualization technologies on social perceptions of the body.

Peter Dickens is Associate Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Cambridge and Visiting Professor in Sociology at the Universities Essex and Brighton. Catharina Gabrielsson
Catharina Gabrielsson is an architect, cultural critic and senior lecturer at the KTH School of Architecture, Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

Anna Hill is an artist working at the interface between science and art, and founder of creative innovation company Space Synapse Ltd.

Melody Burke & Frank Hoppe
Melody Burke & Frank Hoppe are the founders of Satellite Art Works (SAW) in Berlin. Their contemporary art practice focuses on space art, especially satellite solutions, and advanced materials and technologies.

Kirsten Johannsen
Kirsten Johannsen is a media artist based in Berlin. Her work explores how space travel impacts leisure activities and perceptions of home. Johannsen has lectured at the Hochschule der Kunste Berlin, Hochschule fur Gestaltung Karlsruhe and at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany.

Fraser MacDonald
Fraser MacDonald is a lecturer in human geography at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He has written widely on geopolitics, landscape and visual culture, and histories of science. In addition to working on a history of the world's first nuclear missile, the US-made Corporal, he is also a regular commentator on the contemporary geopolitics of outer space.

Lee Mackinnon
Lee Mackinnon is an artist and writer, and is lecturer of Cultural and Historical Studies at Solent University, UK. She has previously delivered papers at The European Space Agency and Imperial College London, relating to the phenomenology of space travel and its effects upon subjectivity.

Hans-Arthur Marsiske
Hans-Arthur Marsiske is an author and freelance writer based in Germany. Marsiske studied sociology and social and economic history at the University of Hamburg; his main fields of interest are the scientific and cultural perceptions of space and robotics.

Agnes Meyer-Brandis
Agnes Meyer-Brandis' art is exhibited worldwide. With a background in sculpture and new media art, her work is at the experimental edge of art and science, exploring the zone between fact and fiction, fantasy and technology. Meyer-Brandis is currently teaching at the University of Applied Sciences in Dusseldorf.

Andy Miah
Andy Miah is a Reader in New Media and Bioethics at the University of the West of Scotland. He has a PhD in Bioethics and a Master Degree in Medical Law and writes broadly on the cultural and philosophical implications of emerging technological cultures.

Zbigniew Oksiuta
Zbigniew Oksiuta is an artist, architect and scientist. His work combines architecture, biology, physics and genetic engineering, and has been shown worldwide, including the Venice Biennial 2004, Ars Electronica Linz 2007, the Biennale of Electronic Arts Perth 2007, the Center for Contemporary Art Warsaw 2007, and the Foundation for Arts and Creative Technology Liverpool, 2008.

Takuro Osaka
A pioneer of light art in Japan, Takuro Osaka is currently Professor of Comprehensive Human Sciences at the University of Tsukuba. He is a member of IEAD (Institute of Environmental Art and Design).

Carrie Paterson
Carrie Paterson is an interdisciplinary artist and writer based in Los Angeles. In addition to her own work, she has collaborated with architects, inventors and scientists in projects that range from the hypothetical to the functional. Currently she is working on instrumentation design for future Mars exploration missions with a member of the ice sciences team at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Sarah Jane Pell
Sarah-Jane Pell is an Adjunct Lecturer, School of Anatomy & Human Biology, University of Western Australia (2007), Researcher in Residence, Monash University, Australia (2008) and practising live artist. Her work has been presented in Australia, Asia, UK, Europe, Scandinavia and recently in the USA.

Frank Pietronigro
Frank Pietronigro is an interdisciplinary artist, educator and author. He is Co-Founder and Project Director of the Zero Gravity Arts Consortium, Associate Fellow at the STUDIO For Creative Inquiry, College of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University and serves the space art community as one of the coordinators for Yuri's Night Bay Area 2007/08 held at NASA Ames Research Center.

Tomas Saraceno
Trained as an architect, since 2002 Tomas Saraceno has been developing his ideas for cities built in the air. His ongoing project Air-Port-City imagines a network of biospheres (or habitable cells) in the sky, like clouds, constantly moving, changing shape, and merging with one another.

Chris Speed
Chris Speed is Reader in Digital Architecture in the School of Architecture at the Edinburgh College of Art. His research focus is best characterised by his doctorate entitled A Social Dimension to Digital Architectural Practice.

Andrew Stones
Andrew Stones has worked as an artist since the mid 1980s, exhibiting video, audio and mixed media installations in Britain, Ireland and further afield. This work has benefited from many kinds of support, most recently a NESTA Fellowship and a photographic residency in Finland. At present, he is working on a study of the rapprochement between artists and scientific ideas in the realm of public reception, undertaken as a PhD at the Slade School of Art, London.

Mark Timmins
Mark Timmins is Postgraduate Director of Fashion at Heriot-Watt University in Galashiels. His research is in the fields of textile construction, fashion design and development.

Douglas Vakoch
Douglas Vakoch is the Director of Interstellar Message Composition at the SETI Institute, as well as the only social scientist employed by a SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) organisation. Vakoch researches ways that different civilisations might create messages that could be transmitted across interstellar space.

Errollyn Wallen
Belize-born Errollyn Wallen is a singer-songwriter and composer of contemporary new music. She was awarded an MBE for her services to music in the Queen's Birthday Honours list in June 2007.

Willoh Weiland & Nicky Forster
Willoh Weiland is the Project Director of the art/science project Yelling at Stars. A writer and performer, Weiland's work has featured in several Australian festivals including This Is Not Art and the Noise Festival.

Nicky Forster is a human geographer and sound artist, and collaborator on Yelling at Stars. Her sound and research generally explore the intimacies forged between humans and their surroundings. She works as a researcher on the Urban Soundscapes Project at the Spatial Information and Architecture Laboratory, RMIT University.
